The idea behind Barbara Spyrouli's work is,  "The determination of space and the transformation of space through the grid."
Spyrouli uses metal wire to carve out geometric patterns, while the negative space created is a component of this grid. The perception of the world that surrounds this space is through the space.  The area identified and mutated, perhaps bounded, creates a unique '' place'' depending on the conditions that create it.
